Why do we have a caravan at Dornoch Firth Caravan Park!

Believe it or not, it all started from a caravan park on the other side of the Dornoch Firth! We were enjoying a relaxing holiday in our wee tourer caravan when we saw a "For sale" advert for the Dornoch Bridge Inn - this was Wednesday afternoon, we viewed this old Inn which had been lying empty for nearly a year and looked like it had been abandoned 'mid-dinner' with drinks still in the optics and glasses on the bar on the Friday morning, offer made that afternoon and on the Monday received the call to say it was ours!! give or take the finances and paperwork! Yikes!! what on earth had we done!

With no clue what to expect the plans and the reno began and still goes on!! However, in the meantime the decision to make the move closer to the business became necessary and so the caravan, or should I say, luxury static lodge, became home for over 5 months. With a bit more progress we moved back to bricks and mortar and moved into the flat and now our gorgeous caravan is ready and waiting and willing to host visitors to the Dornoch Firth.

Where better to spend your well earned holidays exploring our beautiful highlands. The Roost is the perfect base for making your journey along the NC500 (North Coast 500) and we have already welcomed some lovely guests who we hope will return again soon.

Enjoy this beautiful caravan park with its stunning surroundings and peaceful atmosphere. If you are anything like me you will love to watch the changing waters of the firth and listen to the amazing variety of birds! Enjoy the animals in the nearby fields and even look forward to the occasional train as it whizzes past on its journey to the North.

Plus! We cant forget the anticipation of the previously named Dornoch Bridge Inn, now renamed with its original Meikle Ferry Station opening again soon!! Will keep you posted! :-)
